BAT, Bridging Art and Text, exhibition, conference and publication, 2012

After the exhibition Not about Karen Blixen, there was an urge to follow up with an international seminar and publication. The frame of the project was constituted by the needs of the “bridging” subject, the perspectives of bridging and the actual event of the seminar held at The Karen Blixen Museum. The concept of bridging is indeed a turning point, and went well hand in hand with the intention of opening up the Karen Blixen Museum at Rungstedlund for discussions relating to art, text and at the same time contribute to developing and inspiring cultural institutions of today “by questioning the notion of cultural identities, which are possibly not formed by one unified existence but by many”. The four main themes of the discussions of the seminar were: independent politics, divine spirits, black identity and aesthetics and spaces for art and literature. The book was edited by Annemari Brogaard Clausen and Michelle Eistrup.
