SPHERES OF INTEREST
In addition to communicating Denmark’s cultural heritage both nationally and internationally, I am interested in political and diplomatic relations. Other areas of interest of which I am very aware are the interaction between art and culture, Denmark’s position on the global stage, and public diplomacy. I am profoundly interested in the processes of cultural heritage, and its place in society in general. The global goals of the United Nations are always in mind, and I am concerned with their integration into society.
I am inspired by nature and the interaction between nature and culture.
Having introduced contemporary art to the Karen Blixen Museum during my 10 years as director, and having been in charge of exhibitions such as “In Your Words” with Nanna Debois Buhl and Brendan Fernandes; “Not About Karen Blixen” with, amongst others, Michelle Eistrup, James Muruiki, and Stefan Saffer, and “The Open Sea” with a group of Danish and international contemporary artists. In 2012, we held the BAT conference (Bridging Art and Text) at the Karen Blixen Museum with participating visual artists from all over the world, followed up by a research publication in cooperation with the Gyldendal publishing company.
I like to travel and update my professional skills as well as my international network through numerous museum visits and conversations with colleagues. I keep myself orientated in the art world by seeing exhibitions, follow the debate, participate and move around it.
